why do you wanna jump in? for the fun of making music? there is no H in fun. do you want to know how it feels to listen to your own art? there is no H in art either. do you want to make money along the way? there is also no H is money. Humbleness you need to keep on trying to make better and better music. Honesty in willing to learn more. Happiness in being heard. Honor in teaching.
does age matter? only to the haters it does
isn’t hip hip a culture? A movement that embraces raw feelings and pounding rhymes? Maybe it looks like it on the surface. But the commercial side of things? 7he part we actually see in the media? 7hat is more like a polished illusion than anything else. We see and hear finished products. Ready-go-money-making-items. Pop-music, which hip hop is a part of, is about being popular first most of all. 7he product, and value isn’t the music, at all. Music is merely a vessel to carry the rest of the package. Mostly young people are attracted, not by the music, but by the personality they look up to. A personality perfectly crafted to be adored by the targeted audience. 7here is an age limit here.there just is. 7hat is for the ‘face’ of the product there is. Not for the music itself, or the producers, musicians, writers, and what not, behind the product. People don’t care about that part, hack, most don’t even think about that , or know. 7hat also reveals a painful, but bitter truth. Music isn’t that hard to make, once you know the tricks. If you have the money, you can buy the gear, and weaving together a track that fits the popular sounds becomes a childs play. 7herefor new Idols don’t need external input to output new music. Music will be made by the one that is cheap, up-to-date with the industry standards and Already part of the crew. Industry standard being making use of gear that is made by the owners of the industry, so they can push even more gear. 7he stars we know are just commercials to sell more gear. If you want to be a star, you have to play the part. Sing the lines that atracs other people (and that ain’t your own past memories or feelings most of the time.) It might seems that way, because you might be pulled in by lyrics that resonate with you, but they resonate because they are crafted to resonate, not because the artist was ‘keeping it real’...let that sink in for a while... If an old man was knocking on your door, late at night, telling you that if you let him in, he will give you a gift, you would call the police now, wouldn’t you? But IF he had a big beard, smelled like cheap liquor, was wearing red pajamas, and a matching head....and had Santa written all over his ass, only then was he welcome....what is success? Success to me is not having the money, or the fame, fans and views. Success to me is being happy, from the inside. Music can do that for you, at any age
